Who We Are

We inspire a sense of wonder to fuel children’s natural curiosity and appetite for learning, allowing them to be the best versions of themselves.

Kids at Play is an innovative child care center for children ages six weeks through four years of age, including after-school care and camps for school-age children. We create a place of shared relationships among children, teachers and parents, and a feeling of belonging in a world that is alive, welcoming and authentic.

We believe children are innately capable and competent, and we honor each child’s unique way of learning. Our job is to create the space for children to have a voice to collaborate in their learning.

We create an environment as a living organism—dynamic, forming, evolving and encouraging real-life interactions. At Kids at Play, we’re learning the natural way.

Our Philosophy

Leaf

The Teacher

The teacher is a co-learner and prepares the environment by setting out provocation and invitations for the child to explore and problem solve through play.

The Environment

Often referred to as the 3rd teacher, emphasis is placed on the aesthetic of the environment and materials offered to children.

ends the moment a puddle is first viewed
as an obstacle instead of an opportunity.”

Family Style Meals

Young children grow more independent every day, wanting to make decisions for themselves. Serving family style meals is a great way to allow children the freedom to make decisions and develop their own personalities. Family style meals can be defined as meals in which child-size tables are set with plates and utensils. Food is passed in small containers for children to serve their own plates. Children may pour their own beverages from small pitchers. The positive effects of this type of meal service for children include: building lifetime skills, taking part in the entire meal from preparation to cleanup, and enjoying a meal setting that is comfortable and relaxing. And, there is no additional fee for breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack.
